Who we are
Jamii Civic Foundation is a non-profit building open, non-partisan infrastructure for civic accountability. Jamii — Swahili for "community" — is the heart of everything we build.
Public by default
Every reported issue gets a transparent public timeline — from first report to final resolution. Civic data should be observable by citizens, press, and researchers.
Non-partisan
We are public-service infrastructure, not activism or opposition. We work with any authority willing to respond to citizens in the open.
Open data
Aggregated, anonymized issue data is available for journalism, research, and governance programs — aligned to the UN Sustainable Development Goals.
CommunityWatch
A mobile platform where citizens report issues affecting their neighborhood — potholes, broken drainage, security risks, sanitation failures — and follow them through to resolution, openly.

Where we're launching
CommunityWatch is multi-country from day one, with administrative boundaries for Kenya, Rwanda, Tanzania, and Uganda. First pilot cities:

Quarterly "State of Our City" reports and an open transparency portal give journalists and researchers verified, geotagged civic data.
